Overview

Foodbloom is a digital platform that provides accurate guidance so users can make the most of the food they purchase conveniently and economically. Foodbloom promotes LoveFoodHateWaste Canada's research and advice, "The most effective way to reduce food waste at home – and save money – is to make a meal plan and shop smart, so you buy just what you need and use everything you buy."

Problem

60 percent of food waste in Canada is avoidable and it costs the average household $1100 per year.

There is an array of food tracking apps that promote the reduction of food waste in households. However, many of these apps are limited in the services they offer. As a result, they are also limited in the effective optimization of food in households.
